Home recovery
Recovery work for documents, photos, projects, and other files on readable or partially readable storage.
Data recovery
SQIP recovers files from readable or partially readable computers, external drives, USB devices, memory cards, and other media that do not require clean-room mechanical repair.
Clients outside Northern Colorado may ship media after intake and approval. Law enforcement, attorney-directed, and private investigation matters use a separate scope with authorization, documentation, reporting, and chain-of-custody requirements set before work begins.
Residential and small-business recovery
This service covers files on computers, external drives, USB devices, memory cards, and other media that can still be read or imaged without opening a sealed drive.
Recovery work for documents, photos, projects, and other files on readable or partially readable storage.
Recovery of business documents, client files, project data, backups, and device-to-device transfers from readable media.
After recovery, SQIP can copy the recovered files to replacement media and document a backup plan.
Shipped-in recovery
SQIP accepts shipped media only after intake confirms the device type, symptoms, required files, return-shipping plan, and whether the request is residential, business, or evidence-related.
On-site pickup, field collection, and in-person recovery are scoped during intake. Travel within the Longmont area is included. Travel outside the Longmont area is billed at $0.90 per mile, round trip, calculated from Longmont. Mileage, parking, tolls, or other travel expenses are disclosed before scheduling.
Evidence case handling
Evidence and investigative matters are handled under a separate scope. The client must identify the legal or investigative authority, required documentation, reporting format, and chain-of-custody procedure before media is accepted.
Clients must confirm ownership or authority to request recovery, preservation, acquisition, or evidence handling. Evidence matters must identify the authority, scope, documentation requirements, and chain-of-custody procedure before work begins.
Important limits
Data recovery is not guaranteed. SQIP does not open sealed drives, perform clean-room work, or repair damaged drive internals. If a drive clicks, grinds, does not spin, or has water, fire, or impact damage, stop using it. Continued use can cause more damage, and the device should be referred to a clean-room data-recovery provider.
Storage devices can worsen during diagnosis or copying. SQIP is not responsible for pre-existing device damage, unrecoverable files, failed media, lost business income, shipping damage, or indirect losses.
SQIP performs destructive steps, reformatting, replacement-media purchases, expanded work, or on-site consulting only after client approval. This service information is not legal advice.
