About the company
About SQIP
SQIP provides cybersecurity assessments and remediation, managed website hosting, readable-media data recovery, infrastructure work, and local technology services for small businesses, residential clients, and authorized investigative matters.
Company background
How SQIP started
SQIP was founded in October 2024. The name began as a childhood project name and later became the company name.
I started with computers, networks, access controls, vendor access, and the configuration errors that cause outages or expose data.
That work developed into cybersecurity and infrastructure consulting focused on finding weak access, exposed services, missing logs, failed backups, and undocumented vendor connections.
Vendor access and physical security
While attending college, I worked in pest control. The job brought me into offices, storage rooms, mechanical spaces, and rooms containing network or server equipment.
I saw outside vendors receive access to offices, storage areas, infrastructure rooms, and routes through a building that were missing from the company's security plan.
Unlocked rooms, unattended systems, unrestricted network access, shared credentials, and informal vendor access create separate paths into the same environment. SQIP reviews the software, hardware, accounts, vendors, and physical locations included in the scope.
What SQIP reviews and fixes
SQIP works on access controls, network exposure, system configuration, logging, backups, vendor access, device setup, and recovery planning.
The work is scoped before it begins. Findings, approved changes, unresolved items, and next steps are documented.
Work process
- Define the systems, accounts, vendors, and locations in scope
- Identify and rank vulnerabilities or operational failures
- Apply approved fixes and record the changes
- Document remaining items and next steps
Assessment work ends with findings and remediation steps. Implementation work ends with a record of the changes made and any work left open.
Clients and service area
SQIP works with small and mid-sized businesses, residential data recovery clients, and Northern Colorado homes and small offices. Many business clients use SQIP because they do not employ a dedicated security lead.
SQIP serves Colorado businesses, local clients in Longmont and Northern Colorado, nearby mountain communities by appointment, shipped-in data recovery clients, and remote clients across the United States.
